  • PRODUCTION WORKERS-Frostbite, a Division of Dean Foods, the largest processor of milk in the U.S., has seasonal employment opportunities in our Toledo, OH facility.  Frostbite, a nation-wide leader in the ice cream novelty business, is performing a search for qualified production workers.  The Plant is currently running on a four 10 hour schedule, Monday through Thursday with possible overtime on Friday and Saturdays. 

    Seasonal Production positions are temporary general labor positions assigned to our union Production or Freezer departments on our 1st or 2nd shift. 

    Some typical jobs include, but are not limited to:

    *Clean Up

    *Packer

    *Vacation Relief

    *Bundler

    *Freezer Palletizer

    Employees are hired as temporary seasonal help approximately mid-January 2018 through mid-October 2018 working 40-50 hours a week.  Period of employment will depend on job performance and production needs.  Continued full time regular employment is a possibility. 

    Hourly compensation will be between $10.50 -$11.00 depending on the job.

    Job Description & Requirements

    The General Labor positions performs general duties which may include; unloading materials and ingredients for plant use; packaging or stacking product under non-mechanical means and may be assigned to one or more areas throughout the plant / freezer.

    • Loads/unloads stacks and moves items as assigned.
    • May sort, bundle and fill containers or place in assembled units.
    • May mark or put identifying labels on product loads.
    • May record movement of stock in/out of work areas.
    • Monitors materials, products and equipment at each step of process and reports irregularities to supervisor.
    • Perform any other assigned tasks.
    • High School Diploma or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
    • Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
    • Must be able to stand, walk, pull, push, reach, and bend virtually the entire shift. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others when lifting is necessary.
    • Must be able to work in a wet environment.  May occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
    • Exposure to nut allergens.
    • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime, weekends and holidays.
    • Be able to effectively work in a team environment.
    • Be able to legibly write entries for record keeping.
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
    • Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
